Pay once, deploy forever
Your first website and your first backend database are free forever. Extra projects are a one-time $19 — not a subscription. No bandwidth bills, no build minutes, no per-seat fees.
What a year actually costs
Three small projects, one solo developer — the whole bill, no metered surprises.
| Cost | Note | |
|---|---|---|
| First project + database | $0 | free forever |
| 2 more projects | $38 | 2 × $19 one-time — never recurs |
| Re-deploys, previews, rollbacks, SSL | $0 | always free |
| Transactional email (200/day) | $0 | included |
| Year 1 total | $38 | Year 2 onward: $0 |
Transactional email tiers
All email is sent from Pulsar's own mail infrastructure with DKIM signing and verified custom sending domains — there is no third-party email provider in the loop.
Pricing FAQ
Is there really no monthly fee for hosting projects?
Correct. Your first website project and first backend database are free forever, and each additional project is a one-time $19 — you never pay again for that slot. Re-deploys, rollbacks, SSL certificates, and preview deploys are always free. The only recurring prices are optional: a $29/mo dedicated managed server and the $9/mo Mail Boost email upgrade.
What do I get on the free tier?
One website project (deploy from GitHub or any public repo URL, custom domain, automatic HTTPS, unlimited re-deploys) and one backend database instance — a managed Postgres with an instant REST API, row-level security, end-user authentication, edge functions, file storage, realtime subscriptions, and 200 transactional emails per day. Every platform feature is included; nothing is paywalled.
What does a $19 project slot unlock?
Each slot permanently adds one more website project. Buying any slot also marks your account as paid, which raises your backend limit to 5 database instances and unlocks bigger instance sizes (512MB and 1GB). Slots never expire and re-deploys never cost anything.
What is the $29/mo managed server?
A dedicated server provisioned and operated for you — your deploys and databases run on isolated hardware instead of shared capacity, with more headroom (2GB RAM). Cancel anytime; your projects migrate back to shared capacity.
How does transactional email pricing work?
Email runs on Pulsar’s own mail servers with DKIM signing — no third-party email service involved. Free accounts send 200 emails/day, paid accounts 1,000/day, and Mail Boost ($9/mo) raises it to 5,000/day. Verified custom sending domains are included on every tier.
What can I build on Pulsar Deploy?
Full-stack apps end to end: push a GitHub repo (or any repo URL) for a live HTTPS site in under 60 seconds with preview deploys and rollbacks, and attach a managed Postgres that ships an instant REST API with row-level security, end-user auth (password + email OTP), realtime change feeds over websockets, edge functions, S3-compatible storage, and transactional email — the website and its whole backend on one platform, one bill.
What happens if I stop paying?
Nothing happens to one-time slot purchases — they are permanent. If you cancel the managed server or Mail Boost subscriptions, you keep everything else; your workloads move back to shared capacity and email reverts to your base daily limit.
Do you charge for bandwidth or build minutes?
No. There are no metered charges of any kind — no bandwidth bills, no build-minute packs, no per-seat fees, no overage surprises. The price on this page is the whole price.
Can I self-host Pulsar Deploy?
Pulsar is built to run on a single VPS and the code lives on GitHub. The hosted platform at pulsardeploy.com is the zero-setup way to use it; self-hosting docs are evolving alongside it.
